PostConnect sale

Sale of PostConnect to ABnote

Australia Post have today confirmed that Post Connect has been sold to ABnote.

As previously reported Member reports had indicated that this was indeed the case.

Australia Post continually denied that this was the case and they were examining a range of options.

It now seems a remarkable coincidence that ABnote are indeed the purchasers.

Australia Post sent a number of letters to your Union in an attempt to censor member reports and requested that we remove the bulletin regarding reports from members and the sale of PostConnect to ABnote that was posted several weeks ago.

We made it clear when we believe that if member reports have validity (more than one source in different areas for instance ) and are more than just gossip then we will report such items.

We make NO apologies for this and members who forward reports have been vindicated it seems.

The lack of consultation and Australia Post’s approach on this issue is the subject of a Fair Work hearing today in Melbourne at 2pm.

We will continue to hold Australia Post to account on ALL issues that affect the well-being and welfare of members.

We will report on Fair Work proceedings this week.
