An invitation from your Union to Vita Group Employees transferring to Telstra Retail

The Union for Telstra workers, the CEPU, is welcoming new members from across Vita Group employees transitioning across to the Telstra retail business.

Telecommunication retail employees are highly skilled technical sales professionals and the CEPU wants to ensure your pay and conditions continue to reflects this.

The CEPU is at the early stages of bargaining for a new Enterprise Agreement for workers across the Telstra Group, including the retail business.

As part of this process, the CEPU is demanding that all new and transferring employees are covered by this market-leading employment agreement. Within the Agreement, Telstra Retail employees have their own section that specifically deals with matters applicable to the operational group.

This can be found in Section 11 of the current Agreement, and sets out conditions such as:

  • Hours of work;
  • Rates of pay;
  • Meal allowance;
  • Penalty rates (overtime and working on public holidays);
  • Rostering;
  • Team meetings; and
  • Relocation to another Telstra outlet.

Part of our claims to improve the new Agreement includes a fair increase to your pay, and protection of existing conditions. However, whilst we have welcomed a number of transferring Vita Group employees to the Union already, we need the support of the majority to deliver the best possible outcome.

To join your Union today and make us stronger, contact your State Branch office.
