Bust The Budget Protest in Melbourne

Today was the day that unions and the community came together to protest against the Liberal-National Party State and Federal budgets. These budgets are pro big business and anti "honest workers" a slogan that Tony Abbott was using before and after becoming PM of Australia. #Bustthebudget was organised and driven by the Victorian Trades Hall Council with a response by various social media platforms of only a few thousand would turn up, but it is about 20,000 in attendance today to support the cause. In the meantime Treasurer Joe Hockey has defended the Fedral Budget, saying it is not a sign that his government has lost the argument with voters about the Budget. #auspol #ausunions

It was good to see so many familiar faces in the crowd for this amazing cause of people solidarity, even seen some of our own members and officials doing their part to #Bustthebudget.

Don't forget to put it in your diary for the next Bust The Budget demo on the Sunday 6th of July 2014, its a National protest.
